Yasmin joined Gordons Partnership in March 2024 as an Associate in the Corporate and Employment Law Department. Yasmin is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association, an organisation which promotes the best practice of employment law.

Yasmin qualified as a solicitor in 2005 and prior to joining the firm Yasmin specialised in Employment Law in a regional practice for a number of years and most recently in a boutique employment law practice. Yasmin has substantial experience of advising both employees and employers.

Expertise

Yasmin advises individuals and businesses on all aspects of employment law. She is expert in a wide range of employment matters and advises at all levels, from junior employees to board level. She takes a pragmatic and commercial approach to her work when dealing with both contentious and non-contentious employment law scenarios. She has significant experience in drafting policies and employment contracts/service agreements and advising and supporting in-house HR on a range of everyday issues relating to employees.

Yasmin also specialises in litigation in the employment tribunal.  However, where possible, she tries to settle cases early to avoid litigation. As such she has extensive experience of managing workplace disputes including negotiating staff exits and settlement agreements.

She also advises on the employment aspects of transactions involving the acquisition or disposal of various businesses.

Notable Cases:

  • Advising on the employment aspects on the sale of a major financial trading arm of an international investment company including drafting and negotiating employment provisions and advising on staff consultation and redundancies.
  • Acting for a major infrastructure services company in relation to litigation from a senior executive alleging disability discrimination and constructive dismissal which resulted in negotiation and settlement equal to the executives notice period and an agreed reference.
