Sophie graduated from the University of Manchester in 2015 with an Upper Second Class Honours Degree in Law with Criminology (LLB). She subsequently obtained a Distinction in the Legal Practice Course from the University of Law in 2019. Sophie qualified as a Solicitor in April 2020.

Sophie joined Gordons Partnership in April 2024 into the Healthcare Regulation team. She works closely with the partners in the team, assisting on complex matters and conducting her own workload.

Expertise

Since qualifying as a Solicitor, Sophie has gained experience in representing individuals in respect of fitness to practise proceedings. She is regularly instructed to represent clients from the initial investigation through to the conclusion of the proceedings. Sophie makes it a priority to engage with the regulators from the outset of the investigation and is regularly successful in making written representations to the relevant regulatory body that investigations ought not to progress to final hearings.

Sophie also has experience in representing individuals involved in Inquests and has worked alongside partners in multiple high profile matters, including the Sandilands tram crash and Keyham shootings.

Prior to joining Gordons, Sophie also gained extensive experience in criminal defence; representing clients in respect of criminal investigations and court proceedings, regularly attending the police station and appearing before the Magistrates' Court herself.

Sophie was mentioned as a 'Key Lawyer' in the 2024 Legal 500 in Health & Safety Law.
