Shelley spent a year in Madrid studying Spanish Law before graduating from Cardiff University with a degree in Law (LLB) and Spanish (BA). She went on to study at the College of Law in Guildford (now University of Law), where she completed the Legal Practice Course with Distinction in 2011.
Shelley qualified as a solicitor in 2013. She joined Gordons in 2015 and has been a Partner since 2022. She assists healthcare professionals in Regulatory/Professional Conduct litigation and in defending claims brought in the High Court or the County Courts, including claims in negligence and discrimination. She brings her tenacious approach to the most senior level. Shelley has been named a Next Generation Partner in the most recent Legal 500 rankings.

Shelley has a growing reputation for defending claims brought against doctors, dentists and nurses and in Regulatory/Professional Conduct litigation. She has been a litigator since 2009, dealing with a variety of complex medical and dental negligence scenarios including the missed diagnosis of cancer and fatal cases. She also takes the lead in the department with the strategy and conduct of multi-million pound claims, and in the fast growing areas of discrimination and data protection claims.
Junior solicitors often turn to her when they have questions about tricky procedural issues and case strategy. Shelley organises CPD within the department, ensuring regular training sessions on hot topics for the junior members of the team and is passionate about mentoring and supporting solicitors of the future. She is a member of the firm’s Employee Council, a trained mental health first aider and wellbeing champion.
