A law firm with a different perspective

Diversity & Inclusion

Gordons Partnership is proud to be an inclusive workplace. Our culture aims to embody an equal, diverse, and inclusive environment, enabling our staff to thrive and clients to feel comfortable at all points of their interactions with us.

We are committed to recruiting, maintaining and nurturing highly capable individuals from diverse backgrounds and welcome people of all nationalities, cultures, races and religions into our company. Discrimination is not welcomed in our organisation based on gender, age, disability, race or sexual orientation.

Our goal is to ensure that our workforce is truly representative, reflecting the diversity of people, skills, experiences, perspectives and ideas that ultimately strengthen the core of our business. We want this to mirror in our practice, allowing us to provide high-quality, accessible services to our clients.

Gordons Partnership is dedicated to eliminating unlawful discrimination in our business and workforce, our clients, and the wider community.

We foster an environment of equality, diversity and inclusivity in our workplace. Our policies and practices are implemented from the outset in our recruitment process, during career progression and promotions, and in all other aspects of the business.

Gender Inclusivity

The UK law firm average for women partners is 27-33%. At Gordons Partnership, 47% of our partners are women, meaning we are above average. In addition, in our firm as a whole, 63% of our staff are women. This includes our partners, consultants, associates, solicitors, trainees, paralegals and support staff.

We strive to ensure that our workforce is paid fairly, so rather than gender being a consideration for pay, we consider the individual’s experience and qualifications.

Staff Well-being

We believe that the well-being of our employees is vital to the running of our business. Shelley Boyd, partner at Gordons Partnership, is our mental health first aider. As part of her role, Shelley is available to all of our staff to speak to (confidentially and sensitively) in times of emotional distress – work-related or otherwise – and, where necessary, will signpost our staff to professional support.

As part of our work towards diversity and inclusion, we aim to provide the necessary advice, provisions and empathy to various topics, including menopause, miscarriage, men’s health, sleep, healthy eating and children’s mental health. We are consistently working towards the creation of a safe, open and inclusive environment that encourages our staff to seek the appropriate support should they so require.

Family Life

Approximately 1/3 of our workforce are parents. We have adaptable work-from-home policies for all of our staff who are parents or require flexible working for other reasons. We understand that for all our employees, their family and home life remain paramount, and sometimes being in the office is not feasible. Hence, we make all possible efforts to allow part-time or remote work schedules, ensuring that every employee achieves a positive work-life balance.
